Hydraulic O Ring Box Describe
O-ring, also known as a packing, or a toric joint, is a mechanical gasket in the shape of a torus; it is a loop of elastomer with a round cross-section, designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface.
The O-ring may be used in static applications or in dynamic applications where there is relative motion between the parts and the O-ring. Dynamic examples include rotating pump shafts and hydraulic cylinder pistons.
O-rings are one of the most common seals used in machine design because they are inexpensive, easy to make, reliable, and have simple mounting requirements. They can seal tens of megapascals (thousands of psi) of pressure.
Features
1. The O-ring is an annular seal having an O-shaped cross section, the size of which is determined by the inner diameter ID and the wire diameter CS.
2. O-ring size calculation: outer diameter = inner diameter + 2 x wire diameter (OD = ID + 2x CS).
3. The purpose of using O-ring seals is to prevent leakage and loss of liquids or gases.
4. O-rings are the most commonly used type of seal because of their simplicity, convenience, and small installation space. As long as the groove design and material selection are correct, and the operating conditions are within the temperature range of the rubber material, the seal can have a long-term sealing effect in the static or dynamic seal.
Application
The size of the replacement seal should be the same. It is necessary to strictly follow the requirements of the instructions, and select the same size of the sealing ring, otherwise the tightness and other requirements cannot be guaranteed.
Avoid using old seals. When using a new sealing ring, carefully check its surface quality to ensure that there are no defects such as small holes, protrusions, cracks and grooves, and have sufficient elasticity before using it.
When installing, you should strictly clean all parts of the opened hydraulic system. It is best to use special tools to prevent fingers from being scratched by sharp metal edges.
When replacing the sealing ring, check the groove of the sealing ring strictly, remove the dirt, and polish the bottom of the groove.
In order to prevent damage and cause oil leakage, it must be operated in accordance with the regulations. At the same time, the machine cannot be overloaded for a long time or run in a relatively harsh environment.
